A few weeks ago, a new version of the Fairphone 6 surfaced – dubbed the “Fairphone 6+”, the new model was listed with 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage. That is more than the original model, which only has 8 gigs of RAM. This is quite an unexpected move given everything that has been going on in the world of semiconductors.
Anyway, the listing was spotted by NieuweMobiel and showed three color options: Cobalt Blue, Horizon Black and Forest Green. Now the Dutch publication also has images that show off the first color:
More specifically, these leaked images showcase three accessories for the phone: the finger loop, the protective case and the card holder. As far as we can tell from these images, there are no external changes in the 6+. Whether there are other internal changes besides the RAM capacity isn’t clear yet.
These are not new accessories, by the way. The original Fairphone 6 has identical versions. Here they are in Forest Green (since the 6 isn’t available in Cobalt Blue – it only comes in Forest Green, Horizon Black and Cloud White):
Fairphone 6 accessories: Finger Loop • Protective Case • Card Holder
Note that these are not magnetically attached like a MagSafe wallet, instead they get bolted onto the phone. Fairphone likes it when things get done with a screwdriver.
Anyway, seeing that marketing materials for the Fairphone 6+ are ready, this must mean that the official unveiling is close. By the way, Fairphone usually waits a couple of years between releases – the Fairphone 6 came in 2025, the Fairphone 5 in 2023, the 4 in 2021 and so on – so version 7 isn’t expected until next year.
