Kanpur gets top place in UP for Ayushman cards

Kanpur: The implementation of the PM vaya vandan yojana (PMVVY) in Kanpur Nagar has secured the top position in UP with Ayushman cards generated for 1,03,348 beneficiaries above 70 years of age.The achievement was highlighted during a meeting of the district health committee held on Monday evening, where officials reviewed the progress of various health schemes, including the rashtriya bal swasthya karyakram, routine immunisation programme, family welfare programme, janani rurakshay yojana and Ayushman Bharat schemes.During the review, the district magistrate expressed dissatisfaction over poor progress in several schemes and issued stern warnings to the officials concerned. He directed them to ensure immediate improvement and said negligence in implementation of health schemes at any level would not be tolerated.Officials said in the meeting that under the Ayushman Bharat PM jan arogya yojana, 9,20,104 Ayushman cards have so far been issued in the district, while treatment claims worth over Rs 201 crore have been settled.The DM also directed that a warning be issued to the medical officer in-charge of community health centre, Bidhnu, after the centre registered extremely poor performance in various health schemes.Reviewing the progress of janani suraksha yojana in Sarsaul and Kalyanpur, the DM instructed the CMO to conduct daily reviews with the officials concerned due to unsatisfactory progress.He further directed officials to ensure that benefits are provided within three days to the 6,127 women registered on the Mantra portal under the scheme. He said payments to eligible women should not remain pending under any circumstances.Instructions were also issued to serve termination notices to the block account managers of Sarsaul, Bidhnu and Kalyanpur for having the highest number of pending payments.The DM ordered strict action against doctors or employees deployed under the National Health Mission if they remain absent for 10 consecutive days without prior permission. Health department officials were instructed to ensure strict compliance with the directive.Notices were also ordered to be served to the MOICs of Kakwan, Kalyanpur and Bidhnu after poor performance was observed during the review of the vaccination programme.The DM directed officials to ensure quality implementation of all health department schemes and timely delivery of benefits to eligible beneficiaries.Chief development officer Abhinav Jain, CMO Haridutt Nemi and other officials of the health department and district health committee were present at the meeting.
