Kanniyakumari District Collector M. Prathap has announced that agricultural machinery and equipment of the Agricultural Engineering Department are available at low rent, and farmers can utilise the opportunity through ‘e-Vaadagai’ application.

According to the press statement from district administration, the Agricultural Engineering Department of the State has been renting out agricultural machinery and equipment at a government fixed rate, to overcome the shortage of workers and to complete the agricultural work on time.

Farmers can rent tractor operated rotary ploughs, five-furrow ploughs, nine-furrow ploughs, coconut pulverisers and several others along with tractors for a minimum of two hours and maximum of 20 hours on advance payment. A minimum rental fee of ₹500 will be collected from the farmers for one hour work with tractors, including attachments.

Through ‘e-Vaadagai’ application farmers can book agricultural machinery and equipment and pay the rental amount at their location without visiting offices. Meanwhile machinery and equipment will be allotted on priority basis after the advance payment is made online.

Farmers from Kanniyakumari district can also apply for equipment and machineries through the website https://mts.aed.tn.gov.in/evaadagai . Thovalai and Agasteeswaram taluk farmers call to the contact number 94434 50727 and other taluk farmers can dial 89407 11796 for further assistance in renting out the machinery and equipment.

Mr. Prathap urged the farmers to make use of the opportunity.
