Chandigarh: Jananayak Janata Party (JJP) youth president Digvijay Singh Chautala on Friday levelled a series of allegations over the conduct of the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET), claiming irregularities at every stage of the process—from applications to declaration of results—and demanded a fair probe by the state government. Chautala, during media interaction , questioned the Haryana government’s handling of HTET-2024 and sought answers from Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini over what he described as “serious lapses” in the examination process. He warned that if the government failed to respond, the JJP would move court to seek justice for affected candidates. Chautala alleged that the Haryana Board of School Education withheld an earlier result that included biometric verification and later declared a revised result clearing 1,284 additional candidates without conducting biometric authentication. He also questioned why CCTV footage of the examination process was allegedly deleted despite rules requiring the recordings to be preserved for at least three months.The JJP leader claimed candidates had reported receiving unsealed question papers and that examinations at several centres continued well beyond the scheduled time. He further alleged that OMR sheets linked to the 2024 examination were attempted to be destroyed despite court directions to preserve them, adding that the matter later reached the Punjab and Haryana High Court.Raising questions over the role of coaching institutes, Chautala demanded an investigation into whether the 1,284 newly qualified candidates had links with coaching centres allegedly run by persons connected to board officials. He also referred to unverified claims that candidates were being charged money to secure qualifying results and sought an independent inquiry.Chautala further alleged that HTET-2026 results were being delayed under the pretext of manual checking and claimed ineligible candidates were being declared successful. He urged the chief minister to publicly clarify the government’s stand and announce action against anyone found responsible.The Haryana government and the Board had not responded to the allegations at the time of publication.
