‘It’s Beautiful’: American Man Travels To India’s Most ‘Underrated City’, Praises Its Cleanliness And Greenery
An American travel vlogger has put Jharkhand’s Jamshedpur in the spotlight after calling it one of India’s most underrated destinations. He shared a vibrant video of his visit to the city and said that it was never on his India bucket list but ended up becoming one of his favourite places in the country. “Jamshedpur wasn’t on my India bucket list. Now it’s one of those places I’ll be telling my kids about,” he mentioned in the caption.
The video captured the vlogger named Tony Klor exploring some of Jamshedpur’s most popular landmarks while he expressed surprise at the city’s cleanliness, greenery and infrastructure. At the beginning, he described the city as “dummy unique”, sharing that it does not have a conventional governing body like a municipality and is instead administered by Tata Steel’s civic wing.

Calling it the “Pittsburgh of India,” he highlighted the city’s sporting legacy, claiming that some notable Olympians of the country are from Jamshedpur. As the video continued, Tony was seen visiting the hilltop Golpahari Temple, Jubilee Park, Sakchi Market, Dimna Lake and Domuhani, which is the confluence of the Subarnarekha and Kharkai rivers. He also praised the city’s well-maintained parks, solar-powered infrastructure and lush green surroundings.
At one point, he dismissed a stereotype about the state, saying, “Don’t come to Jharkhand, it’s dirty…Um, it’s beautiful!” He added, “Literally no one told me to come to Jamshedpur. I’m so glad I came through, though. This place is so viral. Look at that serene beauty.”
Internet Appreciates His Love For Jamshedpur
The video has resonated with social media users, with many saying the creator had perfectly captured the charm of Jamshedpur. Others welcomed the recognition, calling it refreshing to see a lesser-known Indian city receive appreciation from a foreigner.

Meanwhile, a person corrected him, saying, “It is not true that there is no municipal as there is Jugsalai Nagar Parishad; there is Mango & JNAC (which is an equivalent body).”
Jamshedpur is unique due to its administration by Tata Steel’s civic wing, as it lacks a conventional municipality. It is also known as the ‘Pittsburgh of India’ because of its industrial identity mirroring that of Pittsburgh, USA.
