Kanpur: As part of the pre-Independence Day celebrations, a musical performance was presented on Sunday at Phoolbagh Chauraha by the band of the 32nd Battalion of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).During the programme, the ITBP band performed various patriotic songs, including Maa Tujhe Salaam, Vande Mataram, Jahan Daal-Daal Par Sone Ki Chidiya Karti Hai Basera, Wah Bharat Desh Hai Mera and Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon, Zara Aankh Mein Bhar Lo Paani.The programme was attended by a large number of residents, many of whom were moved by the emotional appeal of the songs.Among those present were the ITBP commander, the additional district magistrate of Kanpur Nagar, and several district officials and employees.The band will next perform at Ganga Barrage on Aug 11 from 5 pm to 7 pm, followed by a programme at Z Square Mall on Aug 12 from 6.30 pm to 9 pm.A performance at JK Temple is scheduled for Aug 13 from 4 pm to 6 pm, while the concluding programme will be held at Kargil Park on Aug 14 from 6 pm to 8 pm.ITBP officials have appealed to residents to participate in large numbers and join the Independence Day celebrations.
