Intelligence Bureau personnel videographed party review meeting without permission: Gujarat Congress chief

Gandhinagar: State Congress president Amit Chavda alleged on Monday that personnel of the intelligence bureau (IB) videographed a party meeting held at Mehsana in north Gujarat without permission. He said that instead of monitoring activities and meetings of the Congress, the state govt must instead focus on reducing criminal activities.Speaking to the media in Mehsana, Chavda said, “The IB and police do not get prior information of drugs that are landed in Gujarat or liquor that is brought in from other states, but these agencies have complete information on meetings and activities of Congress leaders and MLAs.”He said that there was a party review meeting of north Gujarat districts in Mehsana on Monday. “IB personnel arrived and videographed the meeting without any permission,” Chavda alleged.He added, “I appeal to the CM and deputy CM to stop monitoring activities of the Congress. We will not be intimidated by these tactics. Instead, the manpower of the police department should be used to check crime.
