His post comes right after an American woman shared that she got a medicine for just $25 from an Indian manufacturer while its American counterpart charged her $1,000 for the same

The man shared that even after paying a large amount for tests in the US, they would receive the results in 15-30 days
After an American woman criticised the healthcare system in the United States, an Indian living in the country shared the difference in the cost of a blood test in the US and India.
His post comes after the woman questioned the huge difference in cost of the same medicine, which cost her a whopping $1,000 (Rs 95,000) in the US, while it was available for just $25 (~Rs 2370) when sourced through an Indian manufacturer.
Following her post, the Indian American shared his experience on X (formerly Twitter), revealing that he got a blood test done in India for just $30 (around Rs 2,800), whereas the same would have cost somewhere between $1,500 and $2,000 in the States.
“When I visited India a few years ago, I got my blood work done at 7 am by a Healthcare worker who visited me, got the reports by 9 am, doctor’s appointment at 10 am, followup multiple scans at 2 pm, scan results came back at 3 pm, followup doctor’s phone appointment at 4 pm, and medication delivered at 5 pm at my doorstep. All this costed me 3000 rupees (~$30),” he wrote in his post.
When someone in the comments asked him how much the same blood test would have cost in America, he gave a breakdown of the prices and also mentioned that he would have never gotten the test results in a day.
“I’d say between $1500 to $2000. If I get my scans done in a hospital, they can cost $4000-$5000. All this is billed to my insurance (which costs $900/month), but I have to pay out of pocket until I meet my $4000 deductible for the year.
Once the deductible is met, the insurance actually kicks in, but I still have to pay 20% of the costs, he said. “Even after such high costs, the time it would take to get all this done would be 15-30 days. All in all, it’s a big f–n scam. Nothing else.”
Internet Praises Indian Healthcare System
His post received significant traction on social media, with many praising the Indian healthcare system.
“I totally agree! If there is ONE THING on Earth that India can give ANY DAMN Western country a run for their money, it is medical and healthcare! No doubt about it. Just fall significantly ill in some Western country, and you’d pray to God to send you back to India… It happened to me, and I witnessed it firsthand,” said one user.

Another shared, “India supplies 60% of the world’s medicine. It is known as the pharmacy of the world, the price is cheap when there are no middlemen involved.”
A different individual said, “Medical tourism in India is massive, and for good reason. Scheduling, efficiency, and, of course, pricing are a breeze. There are many NRIs I personally know based the UK, Dubai, Thailand and Singapore who’ve been coming to India since years for ECG, MRI, CT Scans, dental work, and even regular consultations.”
“And we have health insurance which starts from $6.5 dollars a month,” someone else pointed out.
Meanwhile, one person highlighted, “It is almost the same for someone who earns in INR in India as for you guys who earn in USD in the USA.”
