Ishan Kishan returned to the India ODI setup in style, registering his second century in the format during the second ODI against Afghanistan at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Wednesday.

Kishan completed his hundred off just 71 balls with the help of 14 fours and four sixes. This is also the third-quickest century conceded by Afghanistan in an ODI match, a list led by England’s Eoin Morgan who scored off 57 balls in 2019.

The wicketkeeper-batter wasn’t part of India’s ODI squad since the 2023 World Cup. However, his good form in the T20Is and Indian Premier League forced selectors to call him back in the format for this series.

Before this, Kishan had also only one century to his name — his double hundred, 210 against Bangladesh in 2022.

From the other end, captain Shubman Gill also registered his ninth ODI century off 77 balls.
