‘If You Have Any Vacancy Please Message Me’: Woman Shares Rapido Rider’s Unexpected Job Request, Internet Says ‘Respect The Hustle’

For one woman, an ordinary Rapido ride in Delhi ended up with an unexpected job application by her rider, and the internet can’t decide whether to applaud the effort or question the boundaries.

X user Nandini Gupta shared a screenshot of a WhatsApp message she received shortly after a Rapido rider dropped her at work in Vasant Kunj. Posting the image, she wrote, “Got a dm from a guy who dropped me at my office😭😭”

The screenshot showed the rider introducing himself and asking if she could help him find employment. His message read: “Hello good morning ma’am

I just dropyou at vasant kunj rapido My self Ibrahim completed b tech in April 2024 ma’am

I am looking for job ma’am I am fresher

If you have any vacancy please message me ma’am”

He also attached his résumé to the message. In a follow-up update to the many people who asked her to help him out, Nandini revealed that she had already shared his number with some HR, raising hopes among many users that the rider’s request might actually lead to an opportunity.

The post quickly went viral, with many praising Ibrahim’s determination. One user wrote, “GOTTA RESPECT HUSTLE🫡 AGAR HOGA TOH HELP KRDO BHAI KI.” Another commented, “If someone asks for help and u can help, do it. If you can’t, don’t mock them. People don’t ask for help unless they’re going through a hard time. Be kind, not hateful.”

Others, however, viewed the incident through a different lens. One person questioned, “But seriously rapido needs to work on this, they can’t just let rapido captains have your number and text you.” Another remarked, “Is it the severity of India’s unemployment, or Ibrahim is upto something fishy!!! Be with us until the next episode of Crime petrol.”

Some comments reflected on the broader employment situation in the country. “Unemployment at its peak,” one user wrote. Another added, “If he’s a B.Tech graduate and still riding for Rapido, there could be reasons we don’t know. But in Delhi/Gurugram, even many graduates earn ₹30–35k. He might just be texting for attention or to start a conversation. Don’t give it attention. Just my opinion.”
