A Gurugram resident shared his frustration online after repeated late-night power cuts left him sleepless, sweaty and forced to sit inside his car for relief.

Power cuts during summer are not unusual in many cities, but for one Gurugram resident, the constant outages over the past few nights have become impossible to ignore. Frustrated and sleep-deprived, the man turned to social media to share what he has been dealing with and ask a simple question, what exactly is happening in Gurgaon?
The man’s video has now started a wider discussion online, with several people from Gurugram and nearby areas saying they have been facing similar electricity problems for years. While some users reacted with humour, many others spoke about long power cuts, sleepless nights and struggling through the heat.
Man Shares Frustration Over Late-Night Power Cuts
The video was posted on Instagram and begins with the man directly addressing viewers about the situation in Gurugram. “Hey guys, can someone tell me what on earth is going on in Gurgaon?” he says in the clip.
He explains that for the last five days, electricity has been going out randomly every night, making it difficult for him to sleep properly. According to him, he cannot sleep without a fan running, and the constant power cuts have completely disturbed his routine.
“For the past five days, the power has been going out randomly every night. I’ve got a bad habit, man, I simply cannot sleep without the fan running,” he says.
The man also describes waking up drenched in sweat because of the heat and sudden electricity failures. He says even when the fan works, it makes strange noises because of the unstable power supply.
“I never even realise when I actually drift off, and I end up completely drenched in sweat. Even the fan is running while making these weird noises,” he adds.
He Recorded The Video From Inside His Car
As the video continues, the man says he checked with others and realised that the issue was not limited to his home alone. “I’ve checked around, and apparently, this is happening everywhere,” he says.
He then jokingly asks if someone can at least tell him the exact timing of the power cuts so he can plan his sleep around them. “Could someone please just let me know exactly when the power is going to go out and when it’s going to come back on? That way, I can schedule my sleep around it,” he says sarcastically.
The most surprising part of the clip was when he revealed that he had stepped out to his car just to record the Reel because there was no electricity inside his house.
“I actually had to come out to my car just to record this Reel, since there’s absolutely no power at home right now,” he says. He shared the video with the caption, “Dear Gurgaon, please explain.”
Internet Reacts To Gurugram’s Power Problems
The post quickly drew reactions from people online, especially residents of Gurugram and Delhi-NCR who said they were facing similar issues.
A user joked, “Giving you sign to plan your next Euro trip.” Another person commented, “Its nothing new. Its been happening since more than 50 years.”
Some users shared their own experiences with long power cuts in nearby areas. “Chattarpur hargovind enclave 22hrs power cut daily,” a comment read. Another person wrote, “gurgaon gaon ban gya h abtoh office m hi sona pdega bhailog.”
A few users said they had also started finding unusual ways to deal with the heat during outages. “Mein toh gaadi mein jakr AC on krkr soo jata hu,” a user commented.
Another person said power cuts during summer have become a normal part of life in Gurugram. “That’s a very common thing in Gurugram – I have been this every summer since I was born,” the comment read. The user also added that during outages, people usually spend time outside, walk around terraces or talk to neighbours while waiting for electricity to return.
