Gurgaon: The crime branch and local police teams conducted an intensive search in Silani village in Sohna on Friday night following specific intelligence about the possible presence of anti-social elements. Teams checked vehicles at entry and exit points and searched houses, streets, and vacant spaces, but found no suspects.Ahead of Independence Day, police increased surveillance and checked multiple points in and around Silani. Educational institutes, schools, and colleges were also checked as a precautionary measure.“The checking was conducted following an input about the locality, but we did not have information about any specific house or building. Therefore, teams conducted checks in the village and nearby areas,” a police officer said.Police teams set up checkpoints at key entry and exit points and conducted detailed checks of vehicles. Drivers and occupants were questioned as police searched houses, streets, vacant spaces, and other potential locations.However, despite the intensive search, no suspect was found, and no arrest has been made so far, sources said.The search was carried out as part of heightened security arrangements ahead of Independence Day. Around 4,500 police personnel were deployed across the district, with multiple checkpoints put in place to prevent any untoward incident.
