MUMBAI: A video purportedly showing detained Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protesters being freed from a police vehicle during a protest in Mumbai has gone viral on social media.The video, widely shared online, appears to show a youth discreetly opening the rear door of a police van carrying detained protesters.Moments later, several people are seen getting out of the vehicle and running away as onlookers cheer.Sharing the clip on X, the CJP’s official handle posted the sarcastic caption, “Hacker hai bhai hacker,” apparently referring to the unidentified youth who opened the van’s door.The authenticity of the video and the circumstances under which it was recorded could not be independently verified.The viral clip comes amid escalating tensions following CJP’s ‘Sansad Chalo’ march in Delhi, during which protesters clashed with police near Parliament.Delhi Police has since registered an FIR over the violence and vandalism reported during the demonstration, while several protesters have been detained.The protest, spearheaded by activist Sonam Wangchuk and the CJP, seeks accountability for alleged irregularities in the NEET examination and demands the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.Wangchuk continues his fast while undergoing treatment at Safdarjung Hospital, and CJP leaders have vowed to continue the agitation.The video has triggered a flurry of reactions on social media, even as police have not issued any official response regarding the purported incident.
