Gujarat: 3,770 register for PG CET in nursing, allied health sciences

Ahmedabad: A total of 3,770 students have registered for the Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to postgraduate courses in nursing and allied health sciences at govt universities in the state. The CET will determine admissions to postgraduate programmes in nursing, post-basic nursing, optometry and physiotherapy. Exam centres have been allotted across 10 universities in the state.The exam schedule kicks off with the physiotherapy exam on July 19, followed by the nursing exam on July 29, the optometry exam on July 30 and the post-basic nursing exam on Aug 2.Gujarat has about 9,000 seats across these four major postgraduate courses. Post-basic nursing accounts for the highest intake, with over 5,500 seats, followed by nursing with more than 2,500 seats. Physiotherapy and optometry together account for about 500 seats.Course-wise registration data shows that 1,301 candidates have applied for the post-basic nursing course, while 1,518 students have registered for the nursing course. A total of 951 candidates have registered for physiotherapy and optometry courses.
