Rajkot: A 27-year-old Air Force personnel died after suffering a gunshot injury from his service rifle at the Naliya Air Force Station in Kutch district on Wednesday.The deceased, Bharat Raj Bhardwaj, a native of Haryana, was serving as a guard at the station.Kothara police station sources said Bhardwaj was on duty when he sustained a gunshot injury from his service rifle, bearing rifle number 103, at around 5pm in the technical parking area of the Air Force station. He was initially treated at the Air Force medical facility in Naliya before being shifted to the Military Hospital (MH) in Bhuj, where doctors declared him dead.Police have registered an accidental death. Authorities are investigating the exact circumstances that led to the weapon getting discharged.
