Berhampur: Ganjam district administration on Wednesday extended the summer vacation in schools till June 20 due to the prevailing heat and humidity. The govt has decided to reopen schools from Thursday and authorised the district authorities to take a decision considering the situation in their respective districts.“In the interest of students and to avert any heat-related casualties due to the prevailing heat, we have decided to close all govt, aided and private schools up to the higher secondary level till June 20,” said Ganjam district collector Keerthi Vassan V.Teachers and non-teaching staff, however, will come to the schools during the period, he said.
