Sankara Nethralaya on Wednesday inaugurated an ‘Experience Centre for People with Low Vision’ in collaboration with Enablemart (TorchIt) during Global Accessibility Awareness Day 2026 celebrations.
The centre, inaugurated by chairman T.S. Surendran, is dedicated to assistive technologies and accessibility solutions for persons with low vision.
The institution also launched the ‘SN Vision Support Club’ to provide reading, scribe, navigation and audiobook support services for visually impaired persons. The event also featured a talk by accessibility advocate Amit Chaturvedi on inclusion and accessibility for persons with visual impairment.
