Mangaluru: Reinforcing the message that protecting the planet begins with individual action, St Aloysius PU College celebrated Eco-week 2026, under the theme ‘Our Earth, Our Future, Our Responsibility’ with the motto ‘Hope for a Greener Tomorrow.’ Organised jointly by Eco Club and Centre for Environmental Concern (CEC), the event combined expert sessions, practical workshops and creative activities to encourage sustainable living.The event was inaugurated at Alangana with the message ‘Choose Green, Live Healthy’ in the presence of principal Fr Clifford Sequeira, SJ, campus minister Fr Anthony Derrick, SJ, vice principal Muralikrishna GM, and deans Kiran Shetty and Inas Dais. The programme began with staff and students sowing different varieties of seeds, symbolising growth, sustainability and environmental responsibility.Certificates were presented to winners of competitions including poster making, pot painting, collage making and bird feeder design by Vice Principal Muralikrishna G. M. The programme was coordinated by the faculty members of the Eco Club and the Centre for Environmental Concern (CEC).
