This week saw the annual WWDC from Apple. The week before, it was Google I/O – both are software-focused events, so there wasn’t any new hardware. So, we turn to older models instead.
The Samsung Galaxy S26+ is not going to win any popularity contests, but it’s a solid middle-of-the-road smartphone that offers a good balance of features, support and price. Right now, the 512GB model is down to $900 – that’s the same price as the 256GB version, but note that only the Black units have such a deep cut. The Cobalt Violet is the second best at $1,020, which is a rather large gap. If you don’t like the Black color, maybe you can put a case on it.
Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is down to $1,100 and $1,210 for the 12/256GB and 12/512GB models, respectively. That’s a little lower than it was last week. You can check out our Galaxy S26 Ultra vs. S26+ article for an in-depth comparison between these two.
The vanilla Samsung Galaxy S26 was $900 for a base 12/256GB model last week, now that same model is $800. There are 12/512GB units available too, though they cost $150 more. The S26 series will receive OS updates for 7 years and you will be glad to have the extra storage.
Meanwhile, last year’s Samsung Galaxy S25+ is down to $750 with a discount and a $50 coupon. However, there are no 12/512GB units available. Now, the S26+ wasn’t a huge upgrade over the S25+ – here’s our detailed comparison between the two – but getting a 512GB S26+ for $150 more may be the better deal for the extra performance and longer battery life.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE was missing in action for a bit – we suspect this was to give the new Galaxy A57 room to breathe after it launched. Well, now the S25 FE is back and it costs around the same as the A57. Even if the A57 had the $60 discount that it had last week, the FE would probably still be the better pick. Here are the Galaxy A57 and its cheaper sibling, the Galaxy A37. The Galaxy A57 is a solid upgrade over the A56 and it has its pros over the A37, though the $175/$145 price gap between the two makes this a more difficult choice.
