Times News NetworkKanpur: A cyber awareness programme designed to protect senior citizens from cyber crimes and enhance their understanding of safe digital practices was held on Friday, by the Commissionerate Kanpur Nagar Police at the auditorium of the Police Commissioner’s Office in Kanpur Nagar.Police Commissioner Raghubir Lal of the Commissionerate Kanpur Nagar participated in the event. During his interaction with the senior citizens, he urged them to stay vigilant against the evolving tactics employed by cyber criminals. He advised them to refrain from trusting any suspicious calls, messages, links, or information received through digital platforms without proper verification. He emphasized that awareness and vigilance are the most effective defenses against cyber crimes.A short film focused on cyber awareness was presented by the Commissionerate Kanpur Nagar. Following this, a team of cyber experts offered comprehensive insights into various issues such as digital arrests, fraud involving impersonation of police officers, OTP and KYC scams, UPI and banking fraud, investment-related scams, social media hacking, and other common cyber crimes, along with effective protective measures.Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police for Women Crime and Headquarters, Sneha Tiwari, underscored the necessity of promptly reporting incidents to the 1930 cyber helpline and providing timely information in cases of cyber fraud.
