Hyderabad: In a rape case registered against a CISF constable at Pahadishareef police station in the second week of May, a local court at LB Nagar dismissed his bail petition two days ago. The accused allegedly raped a woman hired for domestic work on May 9.The XIII additional district and sessions Judge, LB Nagar, on May 20, rejected the bail petition filed by the 38-year-old accused CISF constable.According to the prosecution, the victim, a daily-wage labourer in her 30s, alleged that on May 9 at around 8.30 am, when she was waiting with other labourers for work at Shamshabad, an unknown man offered her house-cleaning work for ₹1,000. He took her to his house in a residential area under Pahadishareef PS limits on a two-wheeler.She alleged that after she began cleaning, the accused forcibly made her consume liquor and raped her. The complaint further alleged that after the assault, the man warned her not to disclose the incident to anyone. “He offered to drop her home, and en route, pushed her off the two-wheeler near a school in Shamshabad and fled. The victim suffered injuries,” the additional public prosecutor stated while appealing to the court not to grant the accused bail.Counsel for the accused argued that the allegations were false and his client, as a govt employee with a fixed address, was unlikely to abscond. The additional public prosecutor countered, stating that bail should not be granted at this stage as a potency test and test identification parade are yet to be conducted and forensic reports are still awaited. The court dismissed the petition, saying that the accused committed a grave offence. “As the investigation is under progress, if being released on bail, there is every likelihood of threatening the victim or making the evidence disappear or he may abscond and cause hurdles to the investigation. As such, the accused does not deserve to be released on bail at this juncture,” the court stated in its order.
