Udupi:The Kollur police registered two separate cases following an incident in Bellala village on Thursday, Aug 6, and arrested three individuals in connection with the matters.According to police sources, the first case was registered based on a complaint lodged by a local woman who alleged that Sanath Kundapura arrived near her residence, outraged her modesty, and hurled casteist slurs at her. The police booked Sanath under the SC/ST (prevention of atrocities) Act provisions and subsequently took him into custody.In a counter-complaint, Sanath alleged that the woman’s family members tied him up and assaulted him during the incident. Acting on his complaint, the police registered a second case under charges including attempt to murder and other relevant sections of the BNS.Two individuals related to the complainant woman have been arrested in connection with the assault. Police stated that investigations into both cases are currently underway, and efforts are on to arrest the remaining suspects involved.
