Patna: After chaos at Patliputra Junction and complaints of alleged technical glitches at several examination centres during the Bihar Police Prohibition Constable recruitment exam on Sunday, the Bihar STF and Bhagalpur police have busted a cheating racket allegedly helping candidates clear the test illegally.In a joint operation, the STF and district police raided a location under the Barari police station area in Bhagalpur and arrested three alleged members of the gang. The accused have been identified as Kundan Kumar alias Devmuni alias Dev Sir of Khagaria, Dev Kumar of Navgachhiya, and Dilip Kumar of Saharsa.According to STF officials, the agency had received inputs that an organised gang had collected large sums of money from candidates and was planning to ensure their success in the examination through illegal means. The gang allegedly used electronic devices to manipulate the recruitment test and facilitate cheating.“Acting on the intelligence input, the STF and district police conducted the raid and arrested the three accused. During the operation, two laptops, a keyboard, mouse, laptop charger, printer, router, seven mobile printers, an iPad, a walkie-talkie, a Bluetooth device, 10 debit cards and five mobile phones were recovered. Several documents, including admit cards, mark sheets, original certificates and other examination-related materials, were also seized,” officials said.A case has been registered at Barari police station and further investigation is underway. The STF said raids are being carried out to identify and apprehend other members of the racket, while the criminal history of the arrested accused is also being verified.
