Bagalkot: JD(S) youth president Nikhil Kumaraswamy Wednesday accused CM DK Shivakumar of “delivering dialogues of a scripted play” over the Bidadi township project.Speaking to reporters in Kendur village during a drought visit, Nikhil said the CM was in confusion over the project. “He says once that he will form a review committee, but he has also issued final notification for three villages. He has some internal calculations in his mind but has a drama company outside,” he criticised. He said his father and Union minister HD Kumaraswamy had not issued a primary notification for the project, but had issued a project notification during his tenure as chief minister. “Congressmen allege that Kumaraswamy has notified it as a red zone. If it is true, they can amend using legal provisions. They also term it as the brainchild of Kumaraswamy. If that is true, why are they carrying the same child on their head?” he questioned.Reacting to DK Shivakumar’s statement that a conspiracy is being hatched to send him to jail, Nikhil hit back, saying it was Kumaraswamy who visited Shivakumar when he was in jail. “Kumaraswamy also consoled Shivakumar’s mother. Shivakumar should remember it before making such baseless statements. If he has been innocent and upright, why is he worried about being imprisoned again?” he said.Asked about alleged jealousy in the Deve Gowda family over another Vokkaliga leader becoming CM, Nikhil denied it. He said Deve Gowda, Kumaraswamy and he himself were among the first to congratulate Shivakumar when he was elevated as CM. “Now it’s our duty to stand with poor farmers,” he asserted.Nikhil visited Halkurki, Kendur and other drought-affected villages in Badami and Guled Gudda taluks, accompanied by former minister Bandeppa Kashempur. He also had a darshan of Goddess Banashankari.
