Patna: A 15-year-old Class X student of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Khagaul, went missing after leaving school in Patna on Monday afternoon, prompting a search operation by police and railway security personnel after her bag and some belongings were found near a railway track in Danapur.According to police, the girl left the school at around 1.30pm. The school is located opposite the railway tracks, and she regularly used the track while returning home during the daytime.When she did not return home, her family searched for her and found her belongings near the railway line. Khagaul police were informed and it reached the spot to search the area and collect evidence. The GRP and RPF were also alerted, while a dog squad was deployed to assist in the search.Danapur ASP Ajit Kumar told TOI that CCTV footage from the area showed the girl leaving the school with one of her friends. Police are examining the footage and trying to establish her movements after she left the school premises, he said.The other girl who was accompanying her has reportedly returned home. Police officials said they would question her to ascertain what happened after the two students left school.“The girl’s upper-body clothing and her bag were recovered from the railway line, but she was not found in the area. Investigators are examining the case from all possible angles and relying on scientific evidence, CCTV footage and other available information to trace the missing student. No conclusion can be drawn at this stage. The circumstances will become clear only as the investigation progresses,” the ASP said.
