Bhubaneswar: A delegation of the BJD on Saturday met the chief electoral officer (CEO) of Odisha and submitted proposals to make the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll cleaner, more transparent and credible. The delegation submitted three separate memorandums to the CEO for immediate consideration. It urged the CEO to send an immediate acknowledgement message to voters after digital documentation of enumeration forms is completed through the booth-level officers’ app.The BJD said such confirmation would help voters know that their forms had been received and registered. The delegation also requested that PAN cards, driving licences and ration cards be accepted as additional indicative documents during the claims and objections phase, enabling more eligible voters to prove identity and eligibility. The party further proposed dedicated WhatsApp groups at suitable levels, involving election officers and representatives of recognised political parties, to ensure coordination, quick grievance resolution and smooth communication during the drives.
