Kanpur: An auto-rickshaw driver was fined Rs 9,700 and his vehicle seized on Friday after a traffic sub-inspector during a checking drive found him transporting 18 people in the vehicle.Traffic sub-inspector Aafaq Khan intercepted the overloaded auto at Paal Crossing on Kannauj-Tirwa route.When questioned, driver Mukesh said the auto belonged to one Sushma and he was driving it on rent.The sub-inspector said Mukesh was initially reluctant to show the vehicle papers but he insisted on checking them. On inspection, the documents were found to have expired. The auto was seized and a penalty imposed on the vehicle.
