An ice cream vendor in Assam was left heartbroken after someone robbed his entire cart while he was resting beside it. The incident occurred as he decided to take some rest after experiencing severe stomach pain. Upon waking up, he noticed that not only were all the ice creams gone, but the cash he had with him was also stolen.
The incident was shared on Instagram by Pankaj Gogoi. In the video, he was seen approaching the visibly distressed vendor who was sitting on his ice cream cart. Curious about what might have happened, he stopped to speak to the seller. The latter then told him that he was suffering from intense stomach pain and had briefly laid down next to his cart to rest.
However, when he woke up, he discovered that someone had stolen his stock of ice cream along with Rs 500 in cash. As he narrated the incident, he broke down, saying that he was less concerned about the stolen goods and more worried about how he would feed his children that day.
What Pankaj did next captured the internet’s attention and earned him praise for his compassion towards a complete stranger. He decided to help him on the spot by first buying him a meal. Then he took him to a nearby grocery shop and bought essential groceries, including rice, milk and biscuits, so that he would have something to take home for his family.
As Pankaj concluded the video, he condemned the theft, calling it deeply unfortunate that someone would target a person working hard to make an honest living and feed his family.

The incident has gone viral on the platform, serving as a reminder that even small acts of compassion can make a significant difference in someone’s darkest moments. While some praised Pankaj for helping the vendor out in a time of need, others criticised the act of theft, especially from someone who was trying to make ends meet.
“Some people don’t realise how much their actions can hurt others. They spend the whole day working under the hot sun to earn for their family. Please don’t make their hard work go to waste. Be kind,” said a user.
