Ahmedabad: For the past few days, the housing society for the economically weaker section (EWS) in the Odhav area of the city has been grappling with issues of low borewell pressure and inadequate water supply. On Friday morning, around 70 to 80 residents staged a protest at the main office of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) over the water issue. Mayor Hitesh Barot met the locals at the corporation office and assured them that the issue would be resolved within 15 days.An official from the AMC said, “Work has started on laying a new water line to resolve the drinking water issue. Until the new water line is laid, arrangements have been made to supply drinking water through tankers.”
