Nagpur: Playing well within themselves, Nagpur blanked hosts Dhule by as many as four goals to kick-start their campaign in the Maharashtra State (WIFA) junior boys football championship, which began in Shirpur on Tuesday.As early as the third minute and in their very first attacking move, Soham Neware drew first blood for Nagpur, while Akshay Pande doubled the lead with his 17th-minute effort. After taking a handy 2-0 advantage at the breather, Nagpur players continued their aggressive play to stretch the lead and register a facile 4-0 victory. Within a span of four minutes, Janay Patel (55) and skipper Humayl Sheikh (59) scored back-to-back goals for Nagpur.On Thursday, Nagpur will face Buldhana in their second encounter of the U-15 tournament.
