LUCKNOW: A 19-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her father inside the Badausa police station in Banda district on Friday, shortly after she was recovered by police and reunited with her family.According to Banda superintendent of police Palash Bansal, the woman had eloped with a neighbor on May 18. Her family had reported that she was taken away by a young man from their neighborhood. Following the complaint, police registered a case and launched efforts to trace her whereabouts.After weeks of investigation, police teams successfully recovered the woman safely on June 12 and brought her to Badausa police station. As part of the standard procedure, her parents were called to the station for counseling and discussions regarding the case.During the interaction, the woman’s father allegedly attacked her with a sharp weapon. He reportedly stabbed her in the stomach, causing critical injuries. Police personnel intervened and rushed the victim to the community health centre in Atarra. Due to the seriousness of her condition, she was referred to a medical college for advanced treatment. However, doctors later declared her dead.SP Palash Bansal said that a case has been registered against the accused father based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother.The accused has been identified as Satya Kumar Chauhan, while the victim is Shivani Chauhan.Police have taken the accused into custody and recovered the weapon used in the attack. The victim’s body was sent for post-mortem examination and later handed over to the family for cremation.
