Its launch is expected next year
TVS Motor is reportedly working on a new 160cc maxi scooter. It is expected to be based on a completely new platform, with a new engine altogether.
Engine
The TVS 160cc maxi scooter is expected to have an all-new 160cc liquid-cooled engine, which will be a first for a TVS scooter. It could make around 15PS – similar to its rivals.
Design

The new scooter is expected to have a conventional maxi scooter design with a central spine. It might feature a spacious and comfortable seat along with a windscreen for better wind protection. It could also get an LED headlamp, taillamp and LED indicators.
Underpinnings & Features
It could be built on an entirely new platform – not the one on the Ntorq range. It could have a new frame, 14-inch wheels, ABS (we hope dual-channel) and traction control.
It might have a rather large display with tons of connected features, as we have seen on the TVS X electric scooter.
Launch Timeline & Rivals
The TVS 160cc maxi scooter is expected to launch late next year – maybe at MotoSoul 2027. It could be priced higher than the Ntorq 150, at Rs 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom).
Once launched, it will rival the likes of the Yamaha Aerox 155 and the Hero Xoom 160. The upcoming Honda ADV 160, and the Yamaha NMax 155, which is expected soon, will also be in the same segment.
