Sri Lanka’s ambidextrous wrist-spinner Shashini Gimhani has been ruled out of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 with a lower-back injury, and right-arm seamer Chethana Vimukthi called up as her replacement.
Gimhani, who has played seven WT20Is, sustained the injury during training.
Vimukthi, her replacement, has not played a WT20I yet but has played three ODIs.
Sri Lanka, led by captain Chamari Athapaththu, has left for the UK for the T20 World Cup, and begins its campaign on opening night against England on June 12.
