A sudden shutdown by an IT company in Pune’s Hinjawadi IT hub has sparked outrage among employees who claim they were left without salaries, jobs or any formal communication.

Professionals who worked at Thynk Tech India allege that the company suddenly closed its Pune office, leaving more than 700 workers without jobs and struggling to recover pending payments.

According to multiple employee accounts, the Pune-based technology company abruptly ceased operations, leaving staff members scrambling for answers regarding their employment status and outstanding payments.

Workers have since approached both police and labour authorities, seeking intervention and demanding the recovery of dues they claim are owed to them.

The company, which operated from Hinjawadi Phase II, had reportedly carried out extensive recruitment drives throughout 2025. Hundreds of software engineers, fresh graduates and interns were hired with promises of career growth and opportunities in Pune’s thriving IT sector.

However, employees now allege that the company’s financial troubles became apparent months before its sudden closure.

As per accounts shared by affected workers and cited by India Today, salary payments initially arrived on time, while interns also received their stipends regularly. This reportedly helped establish confidence among new recruits who had joined the organisation in recent months.

Problems allegedly began earlier this year when salaries started getting delayed. Employees claim that wages due from February onwards were either postponed repeatedly or remained unpaid.

According to workers, management assured staff on multiple occasions that payments would be processed after internal financial and administrative matters were resolved. Despite those assurances, employees allege that outstanding dues continued to accumulate.

The situation reportedly worsened when workers discovered that company operations had stopped altogether. Several employees claimed they arrived at the office only to find it locked.

Attempts to contact senior management and company representatives allegedly yielded no response, leaving workers uncertain about their future and the status of their pending salaries.

Adding to the distress, some employees have alleged that salary cheques issued by the company bounced when they attempted to deposit or encash them. Workers say the dishonoured cheques further deepened financial hardships for many employees who were already struggling due to months of delayed payments.

The matter has attracted widespread attention on social media, where users expressed outrage, frustration and concern over the alleged incident.

“I worked for a company that did not even pay my to and fro travel bills to Pune besides other bills or fees, the CEO invited me to visit HO and later promised to pay many times .. PUNE is city of thugs. I filed a police complaint with no progress.I may pursue the case in court,” said another user.

“So called private business are freedom for criminals corrupt greedy unethical people to exploit everything possible. There are many suffering like this but no one to address it. @FITEMaharashtra has to have some responsibility too,” wrote another.

One social media user commented, “When the head office is in Utter Pradesh, the employees working should have treated that as a RED FLAG… Scamsters & fraudsters have a free pass in states of UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, Haryana, West Bengal.”

Another user reacted briefly, saying, “Bhai india m kuch bhi ho sakta hai.”

Others urged job seekers to exercise caution. “If a company asks for any security deposit. Stay away,” wrote one commenter.

Another user attempted to link the incident to broader economic developments, writing, “The US Iran war is going to change the economics of India. Small fish started dying. Big fish will suffocate in future.”

Expressing anger over the situation, one commenter simply stated, “This is completely unacceptable! 😡”

Meanwhile, police and labour department officials have confirmed that preliminary inquiries are underway. Employees are now hoping the investigation will help recover their pending salaries and provide clarity regarding the company’s sudden closure.
