Future City to be T’s global growth hub: Sridhar Babu

Hyderabad: With the Congress govt pushing ahead with its ambitious Future City project, industries minister D Sridhar Babu on Wednesday said the mega initiative would emerge as an iconic development not just for Telangana, but for the entire country, with a strong focus on employment generation and world-class infrastructure.Sridhar Babu, along with revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, inspected the under-construction office building of the Future City Development Authority (FCDA) and the Young India Skill University campus, and reviewed the progress of works underway in the proposed Future City area. Chief minister A Revanth Reddy is likely to inaugurate the FCDA office on June 2 or 3.

Stating that the project was being developed with a long-term global vision, Sridhar Babu said every aspect of Future City was being aligned with international standards. “Strong foundations are being laid for modern infrastructure and development. The govt is committed to completing the Future City project rapidly during its tenure and fulfilling the promises made to the people,” he said.The minister said the primary objective of the project was to create lakhs of employment opportunities and ensure job security for unemployed youth. He added that the Congress govt was implementing innovative development programmes that many countries and states had not yet envisioned.Sridhar Babu said plans were already in motion to establish a police commissionerate and operate govt offices with a global presence from Future City. He also highlighted the importance being given to skill development through the Young India Skill University, which was set up through special legislation.Srinivas Reddy said the govt was treating Future City as a prestigious flagship project and was moving ahead by resolving challenges with a positive approach. He said construction of the permanent campus of the skill university was progressing rapidly and the govt would continue reviewing the works to speed up execution.
