NEW DELHI: A 70-year-old woman was killed in a road accident in the Mamurpur area of Narela on Saturday morning.The accident took place around 8am in front of Himalayas Apartment in Mamurpur when a Mercedes and a WagonR collided head-on. The impact sent the WagonR backwards, causing it to crash into a three-wheeler loading van parked nearby.According to the preliminary inquiry, Urmila, a Mamurpur resident, was caught between the vehicles during the collision. She sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot.The WagonR driver suffered minor injuries and was provided medical treatment.Police said a case of fatal road accident is being registered. The woman’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination, while further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the collision.
