A total of 446 students on Saturday (May 23, 2026) received appointment letters at a job fair organised by Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College, Chennai, for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Salary packages ranged from ₹2 lakh to ₹6 lakh per annum. The event saw the participation of 710 students from the college – 520 UG and 190 PG students.

S. Santhosh Baboo, principal of the institution, termed the job fair a “second opportunity” for graduates and urged students to treat employment as a learning phase, adding that experience would eventually lead to better pay.

Suresh Sakthivel, AGM-HR, Sundaram Finance, who was the chief guest, said recruiters mainly looked for communication skills in students, besides curiosity, adaptability, and ability to learn quickly.

As many as 45 companies participated in the fair, offering full-time opportunities across sectors including healthcare, finance, teaching, marketing and technology. Companies such as ICICI Bank, SBI Life, Apollo Hospitals, and TVS Automobile Solutions were among the recruiters.
