A matchmaker recently shared details of a conversation with a successful Indian woman living in Singapore. The discussion has sparked debate online about dating expectations, marriage preferences, and personal standards in finding a partner. The story was first shared in a video and later circulated widely on social media.

According to the matchmaker, the woman described herself as open-minded when it came to finding a life partner. However, as their conversation continued, a detailed list of requirements emerged, leading many online users to debate whether her expectations were realistic or simply a matter of personal choice.

Matchmaker Shares Details Of The Conversation

According to the story, the woman is a 39-year-old legal counsel based in Singapore and earns around Rs 2 crore a year. The matchmaker said she had been looking for a suitable partner for many years but had not been successful.

The woman reportedly said, “Honestly, I don’t know. I just think I haven’t found the right person yet,” when asked why she was still single despite searching for a long time. The discussion then moved to her past efforts to find a match.

According to the matchmaker, the woman said her parents had started looking for a suitable partner after she completed her law degree at the age of 27. When asked how involved she had been in the process, she reportedly admitted that her mother had handled most of the shortlisting over the years.

Search Has Continued For More Than A Decade

The matchmaker said this raised further questions because the search had been going on for more than 12 years. During the conversation, the woman initially described herself as flexible and open to different possibilities.

But as they spoke further, she outlined several conditions she wanted a future partner to meet. The matchmaker claimed these preferences significantly reduced the number of people who could fit the criteria.

Living In Singapore Was A Key Condition

One of her biggest requirements was location. According to the matchmaker, she wanted a partner who was already living in Singapore. When asked whether she would consider someone moving there after marriage, she reportedly rejected the idea immediately. The matchmaker said the woman believed men generally do not relocate for their partners and felt such an arrangement would not work.

This part of the discussion drew attention online, with many users debating whether relocation should still be seen that way in modern relationships. The conversation also touched on age and earnings. Although the woman is 39, the matchmaker said she preferred someone who was not older than 42. She also wanted a partner who earned at least as much as she did, which would mean an annual income of around Rs 2 crore or more.

According to the post, she also preferred a North Indian partner. Physical appearance was another factor, with the woman reportedly saying she wanted someone she would rate at least seven out of ten.

The matchmaker later claimed that only a small percentage of people in Singapore fall within that income range, making the pool of possible matches even smaller.

One Answer Sparked The Strongest Reaction

Toward the end of the conversation, the matchmaker asked whether she would consider marrying a divorced man.

According to the story, the woman responded immediately. “Are you mad? What are people going to think about me?” she reportedly said. The matchmaker felt this answer explained part of the challenge she faced in finding a partner.

According to her, while the woman believed outside factors were responsible for her long search, her own requirements may have also played a role.

Social Media Users Share Mixed Opinions

The story led to strong reactions online. Some people argued that everyone has the right to choose their own standards, regardless of how difficult those standards make the search for a partner. Others felt that combining several specific conditions naturally limits the number of available matches.

A user wrote, “They were searching for a salary of 4 -10 crore and they will not find in database. More money to female before and after marriage is big problem for relationship. Majority moves to divorce. It’s female mentality to compare male partner.”

Another said, “Can someone name and shame this female please? She is welcome to refuse a client, but to make a video like this, is a huge breach of trust.”

A person commented, “North Indian ✓ 39–42 years old ✓ Earns ₹2 crore+ ✓ Never married ✓ Lives in Singapore ✓ Presumably has a face, personality, and wants to marry HER too ✓ This man does not exist. And if by some miracle of the universe he does exist she won’t make the cut.”

Another user wrote, “Haha, if her main criterion is a man’s salary bracket, then why would a man in that bracket specifically choose to settle down with a 39-year-old woman when he has plenty of other options?” Biology is never fair to females .. Bitter truth.”

A comment read, “Why would a 42 year old guy who has never married and earns 265K SGD marry a 39 year old??”

Someone else added, “Why would a man earning 2 crores or more at 42, marry a 39 year old woman…..?”
