A 22-year-old professional’s decision to quit a Rs 60,000-per-month job without another offer in hand has triggered a heated debate online. The Bengaluru woman shared how she chose uncertainty over a stable paycheck, saying she wanted to escape a repetitive work routine and explore what she truly wanted from life.

The woman, identified as Diksha, shared her story through an Instagram reel, explaining the thought process behind her decision. According to her, the job was secured through campus placement and was one of the primary reasons she relocated to Bengaluru after college.

Reflecting on her experience, Diksha said she genuinely appreciated the opportunity and the professional growth it offered. She noted that the role allowed her to work with talented colleagues, gain valuable industry exposure, and learn important skills early in her career. However, despite the positives, she felt increasingly dissatisfied with the routine that had come to define her daily life.

In the video, she explained that the demanding schedule left little room for personal fulfilment. She described a cycle where most of her time was consumed by work, leaving her waiting for weekends to enjoy life outside the office.

While she acknowledged that she did not necessarily want to leave the job, she also felt unwilling to continue following the same pattern indefinitely.

Diksha further revealed that she chose to take a leap of faith rather than spend months overthinking her future. She admitted she did not have a concrete backup plan and was still uncertain about the direction she wanted her career to take. What she did know, however, was that she did not want to remain in a situation that no longer felt aligned with her aspirations.

Calling the move risky, she nevertheless expressed confidence that even if things did not work out as expected, she could always begin again. Describing this stage of her life as her “unemployment era,” she said she wanted to embrace uncertainty while she was still young enough to experiment, learn, and take chances.

The video quickly gained traction online, attracting a flood of reactions from social media users.

Among the comments, one user wrote, “9 to 9 kaam kro was epic😂😂”

Another said, “Par mai to dance videos dekhke khush hori hu.”

Not everyone agreed with her decision. One commenter cautioned others against following similar advice, writing, “Don’t misguide people. 😂😂.. Don’t believe insta people like this 😂😂#Karnataka #Bangalore.”

Several users, however, offered words of encouragement. “Let’s go, girl! More power to you. Keep shining,” commented one supporter.

Another person shared a personal connection to her story, writing, “I am going through the same situation, and your video gave me hope.”

A separate user highlighted the importance of stepping away when needed, commenting, “Sometimes taking a break is also important.”
