Last year, Bajaj expanded its Chetak 35 range with the launch of the new Chetak 3503. Positioned as the most affordable scooter in the 35 series lineup, the 3503 aims to bring the premium Chetak experience to a wider audience. Now, while it does miss out on a few features compared to the more expensive 3501 and 3502 variants, Bajaj has made sure the scooter still retains the core strengths of the Chetak brand: solid build quality, practicality, and impressive range.
So what exactly does the Chetak 3503 offer, and where has Bajaj cut costs to make it more affordable? Let’s take a closer look.
Price
The Bajaj Chetak 3503 is priced at Rs 1,20,605 (ex-showroom) and that makes it the most affordable model in the Chetak 35 lineup, sitting significantly below the top-spec 3501 variant. Despite the lower price tag, the scooter still gets the same platform and battery pack as the more premium versions, which is a big advantage. An electric scooter with pretty much the same range but a lower price does sound like a win-win.
Design

In terms of design, the Chetak 3503 looks nearly identical to the rest of the Chetak range, and that’s a great thing, for the Chetak is one of the best-looking electric scooters.
It continues with the retro-modern styling that has become the Chetak’s signature. The smooth body panels, curved apron, sleek LED lighting, and clean side profile give it a premium and classy look. Unlike many electric scooters that go for flashy futuristic styling, the Chetak keeps things simple and elegant.
One of the biggest highlights is the all-metal body construction. This is something that sets the Chetak apart from many rivals that rely heavily on plastic panels. The metal body not only feels more solid but also gives the scooter a more durable and premium feel overall.
The scooter is available in four colour options: Indigo Blue, Brooklyn Black, Cyber White, Matt Grey. Of these, we think the scooter looks the best in blue.
Features

Even though it’s the entry-level model in the lineup, the Chetak 3503 still comes fairly well-equipped. It gets a coloured LCD display that shows ride information clearly and also supports Bluetooth connectivity. Riders can access call alerts, notifications, and music controls through the console.
The scooter also gets:
-
Reverse mode
-
Eco and Sports ride modes
-
Smartphone connectivity
-
Hill hold assist
-
Call and notification management
-
35-litre underseat storage
That 35-litre boot space is especially important because it’s among the largest in the segment. However, Bajaj has removed a few premium features to keep costs down. The 3503 misses out on sequential indicators and some of the more advanced connectivity features offered on the higher variants.
Still, for most everyday users, the feature list feels practical rather than barebones.
Safety & Hardware
The Chetak 3503 uses the same chassis as the other scooters in the 35 series, which means the fundamentals remain solid.
It rides on 12-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres and gets telescopic suspension at the front along with a rear monoshock setup. The scooter should feel stable and comfortable over everyday city roads. To make the scooter more affordable, Bajaj has equipped the 3503 with drum brakes at both ends instead of a front disc brake. While that may disappoint some buyers, drum brakes should still be adequate for relaxed city riding considering the scooter’s intended use.
Motor, Performance & Range

Powering the Chetak 3503 is a 3.5kWh battery pack paired to an electric motor. The scooter has a claimed range of up to 151km on a single charge, just 2km less than the more expensive variants in the 35 series.
Its top speed is rated at 70kmph, which is lower than the higher-spec Chetak variants. But honestly, for city use, that should still be sufficient for most riders. Charging from 0-80 percent takes around 3 hours and 25 minutes. While not class-leading, it’s still reasonably practical for overnight or office charging.
By taking a back step in terms of performance, the 3503 prioritises usability and range; for everyday commuting, that’s probably the smarter approach.
Our Take
The Bajaj Chetak 3503 feels like a sensible attempt at making the Chetak brand more accessible.
Yes, Bajaj has cut back on certain premium features and performance elements to achieve the lower price point. But importantly, it hasn’t compromised on the core experience. You still get the solid metal body, the same platform as the more expensive variants, impressive range, and a clean premium design. For buyers looking for a practical electric scooter primarily for city use, the lower top speed and drum brakes may not really be deal-breakers. In fact, the 3503 could end up being the sweet spot in the Chetak lineup for riders who care more about reliability, comfort, and everyday usability than flashy features.
In many ways, the Chetak 3503 keeps things simple, and that may just be its biggest strength.
