NAMAKKAL: More than 20 passengers suffered injuries when a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation bus veered off the road and plunged into an agricultural field near Paraiyur in Namakkal district on Saturday.The accident happened when the bus carrying around 45 passengers was heading to Kumarapalayam in Namakkal district from Edappadi in Salem district. Driver K Soundararajan lost control of the bus due to an engine issue. The vehicle struck the wall of a roadside canal and plunged into an agricultural field,” said an officer at the Kumarapalayam police station.Residents and Kumarapalayam police rescued the injured people and sent them to Kumarapalayam Government Govt Hospital. Police registered a case.
