Balasore: Two motorcycle riders from Balasore district were killed in a suspected hit-and-run accident on NH-16 near Jasotikiri under Bhandaripokhari police limits in Bhadrak district on Wednesday. The deceased were identified as Ratnakar Das (28) and Chandan Swain (27), both residents of Begunia area under Soro police limit.According to police, the two were travelling to Cuttack on a motorcycle when an unidentified vehicle allegedly hit their bike near Jasotikiri before speeding away from the scene. On being informed, personnel from Bhandaripokhari fire services rushed to the spot, rescued the victims and shifted them to the Bhandaripokhari community health centre. However, doctors declared both of them dead on arrival. The bodies were later sent to the Bhadrak district headquarters hospital for post-mortem.
