Koppal: A 30-year-old man died on the spot, and another sustained serious injuries after the motorcycle they were travelling on crashed into a tree that had fallen on the road due to rain near Bhimanur village in Koppal taluk on Sunday morning. The deceased is identified as Kiran Karabadagi, a resident of Kamanur village. The injured, Mahesh Hulli, is shifted to the district hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. According to police, the two youths were travelling on a bike from Kamanur to a factory near Hosapete for work when the accident occurred. Due to heavy rain, a tree had fallen across the road, and the riders reportedly failed to notice it in time, leading to the collision. A case has been registered at Koppal Rural police station, and further investigation is underway.
