The police have arrested a 61-year-old Tamil Nadu native, who is accused in several theft cases, in connection with a burglary at a house in Bekal in which 45 sovereigns of gold ornaments were stolen.
The arrested person was identified as Rajan alias Natarajan, a native of Karimmokkai near Alamkombu in Mettupalayam, Coimbatore.
Following a complaint lodged by the house owner, the Bekal police registered a case and launched an investigation.
Subsequently, the police recovered the stolen ornaments from a hideout on Netaji Road near Kannur railway station.
