CFTRI to host RISE Conclave 2026 to boost innovation

Mysuru: Bengaluru will host the prestigious Research, Industry, Start-up and Entrepreneurship (RISE) Conclave 2026 on Saturday and Sunday at the VM Ghatge Convention Centre, bringing together leading scientists, industry experts, entrepreneurs, investors and policymakers from across the country.The conclave will also help explain how AI can be used ethically, including how it can be used in the food processing industry and aerospace.The conclave is being jointly organised by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) through its constituent laboratories—National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), Bengaluru, Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysuru; and Fourth Paradigm Institute (4PI), Bengaluru.Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, CFTRI director Giridhar Parvatam said the conclave would help bridge the gap between laboratory research and industry by fostering collaborations that accelerate the translation of scientific discoveries into commercially viable products and technologies.The conclave was earlier held in Jammu, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Lucknow and Chennai, he stated.Themed ‘Innovation and Entrepreneurship Driven Growth for Viksit Bharat 2047,’ the two-day event aims to strengthen collaboration between research institutions, industries, start-ups and academia, creating a vibrant ecosystem for innovation-led economic growth and technological self-reliance.Union minister of state for science and technology and earth sciences Jitendra Singh will inaugurate the conclave and interact with innovators, start-up founders and industry leaders. Dr N Kalaiselvi, director general of CSIR and secretary, DSIR, will be present.More than 100 start-ups, MSMEs and technology exhibitors supported by organisations such as CSIR, ISRO, DST, DBT, ICAR, ICMR and MoES are expected to showcase cutting-edge technologies and market-ready innovations.Key sessions will focus on aerospace technologies, artificial intelligence, science communication, agri-food innovation, entrepreneurship development, venture capital funding and aligning academic research with industry needs.
