Mangaluru: Belthangady police have booked five persons and others for allegedly intercepting, abusing and threatening a young woman after she visited Didupe Falls with a male friend from another faith.According to the complaint, the woman, who works in Mangaluru, had travelled with her friend to Didupe Falls at Malavanthige village in Belthangady on July 12.When the complainant reached the parking area, a group of around five to six people allegedly intercepted them and objected to her travelling with a youth from another faith. The accused allegedly abused her and issued her death threats.Based on her complaint, Belthangady police registered a case under Sections 126(2), 352 and 351(2), read with Section 3(5) of the BNS against Ranjith, Sudarshan, Swastik, Pradeep, Deekshith and others.Police said an investigation is under way, and appropriate legal action will be initiated.
