New Delhi:
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday said the Centre has approved all 28 major projects proposed by the Delhi government under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme.
In a statement, Ms. Gupta stated, “The total cost of these projects is ₹1,647 crore. In addition, recognising the Delhi government’s efforts to enhance capital expenditure (CAPEX) through its own resources, the Centre has also approved an additional incentive of ₹756 crore.”
She added that the funds would be used to accelerate development works across the Capital and improve public facilities. The projects approved under the SASCI scheme include Delhi Metro projects, Barapullah Elevated Corridor, Karawal Nagar flyover, EV charging stations at DTC depots and other road infrastructure works.
SASCI is a Central Government scheme under which States and Union Territories receive interest-free financial assistance for infrastructure projects. The scheme also offers financial incentives to encourage strategic reforms and increased capital investment by States.
“The Finance Department has been entrusted with coordinating with all the concerned departments so that construction progresses swiftly and the people of Delhi can benefit at the earliest,” she added.
