Mysuru: The remarkable success of Madhuri R, student of Karnataka Public School in Yelwala, who scored 624 out of 625, in the 2026 SSLC examination, has been hailed as an example of how the state govt’s ambitious Gruha Lakshmi scheme is strengthening the financial standing of poor and middle-class families across the state.Acting on the directions of women and child development minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar, department officials visited Madhuri’s residence on Friday, and congratulated her. They said that the assistance received under the Gruha Lakshmi scheme played an important role in supporting Madhuri’s education. Her mother, a beneficiary of the scheme, used the financial aid to meet Madhuri’s educational expense, and create a stable environment for her daughter’s studies.The department noted that Madhuri’s achievement reflects the positive impact govt welfare schemes can have, when benefits reach deserving families effectively. Hebbalkar said that such exceptional achievements become possible when welfare schemes reach eligible beneficiaries at the grassroots level.
