Based on the IMV body-on-frame platform, the global-spec Hilux EV features a 59.2kWh battery pack paired with front and rear motor producing 205Nm and 268.6Nm, respectively. It delivers a claimed WLTP-certified range of over 240km.

India-Spec Model to Retain Diesel Engine

However, the India-spec version is expected to retain the existing 2.8L GD-series turbo diesel engine, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. This diesel engine generates a maximum power of 204PS and 420Nm (MT)/500Nm (AT) of torque. The pickup truck will also continue to offer a part-time 4WD drivetrain system. Toyota might introduce the new Hilux diesel with the 48V ‘Neo Drive’ mild hybrid system, similar to the one recently introduced in the Fortuner.

Interior & Features

Interior of the new 2026 Toyota Hilux is significantly more upmarket and feature-packed than the current generation. One of its major attractions is the dual 12.3-inch display setup integrated on the newly-designed dashboard. The pickup truck also comes with a new three-spoke steering wheel, a wireless charging pad, dual zone climate control, powered and ventilated front seats, connected car tech, a blind spot monitor, OTA (over-the-air) updates, 360-degree cameras and ADAS safety features.

All-New Design

The new Toyota Hilux 2026 pickup truck looks more evolved and modern than its predecessor. At the front, it features a sportier bumper, a honeycomb-patterned grille and slim LED headlamps connected by a black trim.

Other design highlights include 17-inch alloy wheels, massive cladding on the wheel arches and rear bumper, a black boot handle with ‘HILUX’ branding, bold ‘TOYOTA’ lettering on the tailgate, large vertically positioned taillamps with C-shaped DRL signatures.
