AHMEDABAD: A 30-year-old woman riding pillion on a scooter was killed and four others sustained serious injuries after an SUV rammed into multiple vehicles near Khokhra Circle late on Monday.According to H-Division traffic police, preliminary investigation and witness accounts suggest that the SUV driver may have suffered a seizure or a heart-related medical emergency, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle careened wildly into incoming traffic during peak hours, damaging at least three two-wheelers and an auto-rickshaw before finally grinding to a halt against a road divider.The injured were rushed to LG Hospital in Maninagar for treatment, while the SUV driver was admitted to Civil Hospital in Asarwa under police custody.Police said further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the crash. Authorities are currently scanning local CCTV footage from the intersection to piece together the sequence of events, and medical boards have been requested to run toxicology and diagnostic tests on the driver to confirm the medical episode.
